Technology Performance

ENTRAPMENT: The process of loading the polymer is called entrapment. While many liquid ingredients are readily loaded into a polymer, many solids, and ingredients with stability or solubility challenges require special handling. Still other delivery systems require special 'entrapment solutions' to achieve the desired function depending on where they will be used. Through the use of specially designed manufacturing equipment and unique chemistries, HBS has developed a range of capabilities to meet your needs.

RELEASE: The structure of polymer provides for sustained release of functional ingredients. The primary mechanism for release is diffusion, but the release rate is also influenced by other factors. These factors include: skin chemistry, temperature, the structure and solubility of the ingredient itself, the product formulation, how the formula is applied, and of course the method and chemistry of the entrapment system.
